What happens in the video

  1. 0:00 Measuring bores: two anvils or three
  2. 0:05 The micrometer family: outside, depth, inside, two-point bore and three-point.
  3. 0:11 Inside micrometer: two anvils; rock across the bore and take the largest reading.
  4. 0:19 On the setting ring the reading misses the ring size: a zero error.
  5. 0:28 Set the origin on the ring: the reading comes back to the ring size.
  6. 0:34 Three anvils self-centre in the bore: the diameter reads directly.
  7. 0:42 Depth micrometer: the base sits on the face and the scale reads reversed (not in the lab yet).
