Direct, indirect and comparative measurement
Direct, indirect and comparative measurement: a 46-second reenactment recorded in the KELIBRON 3D lab, with English captions. The steps below are the captions in order, and you can do the same measurement yourself in the lab.
What happens in the video
- 0:00 Direct, indirect and comparative measurement
- 0:05 Direct measurement: the reading is the size you want.
- 0:11 Now the large diameter.
- 0:17 Shoulder height = (large − small)/2. That is indirect measurement: the result is calculated from two readings, and each diameter’s error counts only half.
- 0:24 Comparative measurement: take this bushing as the standard (its size is shown below), close on it and press ZERO. The display shows INC.
- 0:30 Change to another part: the display shows only the difference from the standard.
- 0:36 Size = standard + difference. Switch back to absolute to check it.
